Krishna (/ˈkrɪʃnə/,[7] Sanskrit articulation: [ˈkr̩ʂɳɐ]; Sanskrit: कृष्ण, IAST: Kṛṣṇa) is a significant divinity in Hinduism. He is adored as the eighth symbol of the god Vishnu and furthermore as the preeminent God in his own right.[8] He is the lord of sympathy, delicacy, love[9][10][11] and is one of the most famous and broadly worshipped among Indian divinities.[12] Krishna’s birthday is commended each year by Hindus on Krishna Janmashtami as per the lunisolar Hindu schedule, which falls in late August or early September of the Gregorian calendar.[13] Krishna is generally portrayed with a woodwind in his grasp.
