God has been considered as either close to home or unoriginal. In belief in higher powers, God is the maker and sustainer of the universe, while in deism, God is the maker, yet not the sustainer, of the universe. In polytheism, God is simply the universe. In agnosticism, there is a nonappearance of confidence in God. In skepticism, the presence of God is considered obscure or mysterious.
